FRESH SALMON / CHINAConsumer experience · 04 Nov 2026
How do people in China buy fresh salmon on their phones?
Six steps, from livestream to delivery. Tap a step or use Next inside the sample phone. No app, account or payment is needed.
STEP 01 / 06
Find fresh salmon
A shopper may search for salmon, discover a short video, or open a livestream. The first screen now shows a real salmon product image, similar to what catches a shopper’s attention before entering a livestream.
Douyin is a Chinese short-video and shopping app. It operates separately from TikTok.
STEP 02 / 06
Watch two real salmon livestreams
These two real phone recordings show what a Chinese shopper sees: the presenter, salmon products, comments, price cards and shopping controls.
Clip 2 shows a MOWI salmon livestream on JD.com. Prices and product claims are visible but not independently verified.
STEP 03 / 06
Open the shopping basket
The basket shows packs offered by the seller. Buyers can check size, origin and price.
Product names and button placement depend on the app version and merchant.
STEP 04 / 06
Compare before buying
Compare the pack price, weight and price per kilogram. A smaller pack is not always cheaper.
Before coupon, 500 g at ¥139 works out to ¥278/kg, which is the lowest of these three sample unit prices. Optional discounts are shown separately.
STEP 05 / 06
Review the order
The order starts at the listed pack price. Tap the coupon box to apply the optional ¥10 discount and see the total change.
A coupon is not applied automatically. The prices and shipping conditions in this simulation are fictional.
STEP 06 / 06
Receive chilled salmon
The seller arranges delivery. The buyer can check updates and review after-sales options.
A real order may have tracking, refunds and service options. They depend on the seller.
